Word to the wise.. When you have a self admitted “sensitive”
5 year old girl in the house, DO NOT WATCH SAPPY REALITY SHOWS! There will be
tears.
The Biggest Loser is just one of those shows that we always
seem to get sucked into. Season after season, it’s the same thing. “I don’t like
the contestants this time.” “Jillian bugs me!” “Why does everyone have some sob
story?” After all is said and done, none of that matters. We still end up
watching, and getting involved throughout the whole season.
Maybe I have just watched it enough that I am jaded, and am never
really affected when it comes time for someone to get the boot, and go home.
This was clearly a new experience for Brooklyn. As we were watching Joe Shmo promise
that he will be 100 lbs lighter the next time we see him, I hear whimpering,
and a small voice says “I’m so sad”. As I look down ad Brooklyn, I was met with
red, tear filled eyes. This where I am a horrible parent, and immediately start
to laugh. I have the hardest time
keeping a straight face in situations such as this one. Jessica is always much stronger than I am.
She can always keep calm and comfort the kids, even if something as goofy as
the biggest loser is making them cry. When I looked over at Jessica to see how
she would react, she had already covered her head with a blanket and was shaking
from laughter. I’M DOOMED! How am I supposed to be serious with this going on?
Brooklyn was pretty quick to get over the elimination from
the white team, but it’s safe to say that that we all shed some tears that
night.
